My 13 year old son was given a plaque that says ''Unsung Hero'' for baseball. What does this mean?

He was not able to attend the awards banquet, but another boy on his team Skitterz told him that it was because he had the least amount of strikeouts/highest Registered User on-base percentage.

unsung heroes are people who do their job the best they can and tyy bay bayy :) they do it very well but don't get enough credit for it. Otherwise, Registered User underrated. The Unsung Hero award goes to the most under-rated player on Em-er-oni and cheese the team. Basically it is awarded to the guy who should of won MVP but Registered User then was demoted because of politics.
